Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.

What is causing this and what is a possible solution?

Thanks,

Deepak

The tech advised replacements won't happen if the model you have is not in their refurbished inventory. They are not upgrading to the next flavor available or latest & greatest cause it's way out of warranty, which I get. They will replace the same model/device if they have it.

I saw a post on here after filing my support ticket that says their's SP device was not replaced b/c M$oft didn't have their model in stock, an SP4.

With that in mind, I anticipate the same response. I have an SP4 and I got mine in 2016 and I'm guilty of what the person shared too; leaving my system always on/plugged in.

The support process was easy and online. They'll ask for video of the bulge with serial number on screen. Then you upload, they review, and if they agree, they escalate amd you get update alerts.

I got 6 great, continously on, years out of my SP4. Not mad at all if they can't replace it. I would buy another but had the job buy me the SP8. Good luck to you.

Even when they are they will still not support. Here is the bottom line - you know it is an issue and there was not recall on this and still sell in the market - so tells us type of company they are right?

That is the way I see it. FOr me as long I can don't endorse them I will try my best. Just too much to go through and the lack of ownership on Microsoft. MOve on

@RicoGood - did you get yours replaced free of charge? When did this happen? Explain more about how this worked for you.

Nope they never did pay for it. They made us pay for it with a lesser discount.. after making more then 6 calls= and they were nasty. So we decided to go with another company and not purchase the product anymore.
