Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.

What is causing this and what is a possible solution?

Well add me as well, mine just started bulging out a day or two ago. What cr@p! Just goes to show, businesses like Microsoft care only about money. Well they won't have anymore of mine. Here I come HP.

Agree. I totally feel you. As they offered that to me. I guest Microsoft don't mind loosing customer that has been loyal to them. Perhaps the financial loss is insignificant and that makes us insignificant I suppose.

I suspect you're dead right in that it may indeed be exacerbated by the closed cover but even if that is an issue the charging system must also be at fault - which in the end boils down to the simple fact that MS have made thousands of these machines with a built in defect that renders them useless and, worst of all, potentially dangerous AND have turned a blind eye to it throughout. That's some big brand cochones right there, right in our faces.

Been an MS fan for decades now and never felt so let down by a brand that I loved.

It's also hard to understand why a techo journalist hasn't picked this up and splashed it all over the press or is my cynical mind right in thinking they've all been bought off..??

I also struggle with those in this forum who have succumbed to the "offer" and had a refurb model for 400/500 dollars pounds or euros/whatever. I would be forever wondering how long this "refurb" model would last before the same s**t happened to me again.

Can't quite bring myself to go across to the dark side and buy an Apple product but at least I have heard how good their Customer Service is. Bet they wouldn't let a forum like this rack up 22 pages (and growing) of people ALL complaining about one aspect of their products without doing something about it urgently; if only MS, if only......

Same here. I did finally get an online response from MS after I filed a complaint online with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, with the offer as detailed earlier. Never heard back from them after I made a similar counteroffer. Hundreds? Maybe many more. I understand the successful class action on the Surface 3 battery complaints affected tens of thousands.
