Surface 4 Pro screen bulging at lower left edge and separated from the frame

I have a Surface 4 Pro that I purchased in March 2016. Over the last few days, I was seeing a considerable color bleed on lower left edge of the screen. Then I stared noticing that that type cover does not seem to close flat against the screen. On closer inspection, I found that the screen is bulging (curving out) on the lower left side and the screen edge has separated from the frame, exposing a gap, Some of the circuitry inside seems to be pushing out as well from what I can see through the gap, indicating something inside is exerting an outward pressure. I pushed the screen back in and with a little pressure it got flattened. However, after a few minutes use, the screen bulged out again. There is no physical damage to the screen, the bezel or the device in general, no cracks or scratches.

What is causing this and what is a possible solution?

Thanks,

Deepak

Follow up to my original post.

The CPSC notified Microsoft of my complaint on May 8th, and posted my report on saferproducts.gov on the 22nd. I have not had any correspondence from MS since they were notified. The Surface is now packed in a box in my office along with hundreds of dollars worth of chargers, cables and docks etc. that are exclusive to the pc and unusable with any replacement I'd consider. I feel I was totally ripped off.

A quick read of the dozens of posts on this topic should leave you feeling let down by MS as they may come to the party ata price or not depending just how old the Surface is.  Most of us have old laptops that have never died from expanding batteries just batteries that die with old age which is easily fixed.  The Surface battery dying however ruins the whole unit.  Good luck.  Don't hold your breath tho as Redmond could not give a stuff about us

    Dear Microsoft,

I don't need to know how many thousand people have the same problem - I want to know what solution you are offering.

Microsoft is telling you they don't want you as a hardware customer. Microsoft was NEVER any good at hardware so I am fascinated why they continue to offer newer models (name) but still based on failed platforms. I am not a fan of iPads but Microsoft Software runs on Apple hardware. Dump Microsoft hardware, I have a 15-year-old HP laptop that still runs perfectly. Microsoft is like the "ex", let them go, you'll be better off, less frustrated and happier.

Add yourself to a long list of bunnies who bought a dangerous piece of hardware.

Why is this not public knowledge?

other companies with dud and dangerous batteries had been quickly ecposed and replaced their gadgets.
