Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Can anyone confirm or deny that there is any fix/workaround relevant to the loss of battery on shutdown for the SP4 (not SP6)??

The release preview appears to only be for the SP6 correct?

Reading all of this is a mess.

In short @MorganKita it is a temp fix.  In regards to what @James is saying he is emphasizing the Windows Insiders program with on going development of the @Surface line of Products & Windows, but off topic for a sec.  Even Apple is facing the same issue (Currently fixed on both their i9 series Macbook Pro's & recently the iPhone IOS 13.1)  So no it is not only INTEL CPU's, it's also ARM, AMD and others, it is the core programming of how the CPU can be programmed to help isolate malware for users.  

NOTE: Navigate to pg. 35 and look for the temp fix for SP4 with Jose, also yes be patient if you can, the next update will soon be avail. for the general public, along with further development of SMT with Firmware.

See this is where I'm confused. I'm starting to think multiple "battery" problems are being written here maybe? I tried turning off SMT in the UEFI menu and selected shutdown from the windows start menu. Left my SP4 unplugged and off for 10 hours, and come back and just like always it's down 10% battery. 1% per hour roughly.

Also in regards to the release preview.... I still can't get anyone to confirm that they have been able to download it with an SP4, so far from reading only SP6. That's why I was assuming it was a fix for only the SP6.

I'm so f'ing confused right now, and am sick of having my battery drain no matter what I do with the damn thing.

The original thread was fo Surface Laptop 2.  With that being said.  Do the following Windows + S for search pull up cmd and run as administrator type the following.  Also did you re-calibrate the battery?  Turn on your SP4 and let the battery run out by itself until you can not power on battery, then plugin your SP4 and charge till 100% / Full and let it run down one more time, for best practices with any electronic device, do a battery re-calibration 1x a month.  

Powercfg /energy

The report will end up in your system32 folder, navigate to c:\windows\system32\energy-report.html

See what is using high cpu utilization.  Then see if there are drivers with issues and so forth. Let me know when you can.

Note:. Release preview is for any computer that you have that is capable running windows 10, it is part of the windows insider program with 4x different levels, slow, fast and release preview or skip ahead.  You need to sign in with your MSFT / MSA account and choose the level of your needs, after that it will restart.  Also Windows Insider program is beta non final code, there will be issues as a reminder, so please do not if this is your only computer and or if you rely on this computer as your primary / everyday compute device.  Especially if you have sensitive data, make sure you make a backup of any data that has value to you.

Johnny thank you for the response, but to be honest that doesn't make sense for what I'm asking. I'm saying that when the device is POWERED off (in shutdown/hibernate) that it is draining battery by 1% an hour. How can recalibrating my battery make a difference there? I have run countless energy/battery reports and there is nothing to see there. Cycle count is still ok (for now... worse everyday with this problem), and the sleep study shows nothing.

That lost of 1% per hour is part of the symptoms people are facing, re-calibration is part of the process.

I'm happy, that I found this. I have the same 100% to 75% capacity drop problem. But in my case its a SL1. I've read most here and apparently the 75% problem only occurs with the SL2 and SP6? But mine is definitely an SL1! My problem also started in August. I have attached two pictures. I hope that the Insider Update from the SL2 will be released later for the SL1 as well.
