Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this?

The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

I had a 3 hour long chat with a Microsoft agent on the Get Help app as I was having the same problem in the replacement device they sent me. And of course also in my original device which I purchased in May 2019.

I have been told that they have a specially tested replacement device that surely does not have this battery problem which they will be sending me. I'm hoping this solves the problem. I also have an email saying that if the replacement device i get also has the problem, then they will give me a brand new device.

Now I'm not sure what happens if the brand new device also has the problem, but I'm going ahead with this process and see where things go. I'm curious to know what Microsoft will do after they have exhausted all their options.

Did you ask them what's the cause of the problem in the first place? If they're confident that they can send you a unit that won't have the issue, they must know what's causing it.
