Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this?
The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

To be fair, I can't say that my SL2 battery life has been bad. Even with 75%, I get several hours out of it.
So you select Shutdown from the Power menu and do not experience a drop overnight? I'd be interested in what happens if you charge to 100% and then shutdown for the night as to what the battery % reads in the morning when you turn it on again.
At the risk of repeating myself...
If you need to use your surface laptop for something work critical & on battery only, try my solution. Since there were no references to it at all, in this race for a new firmware, I imagine that noone else has tried it..
I had to sit through multiple presentations from 9am til 5pm and my battery life was at 65% by the end with mixed use. (powerpoints, word docs, online articles etc)
My solution was to switch off hibernation**:**
command prompt, **type****powercfg.exe /**hibernate off
I can now shutdown and switch on like before and it works like when I first got it.
Good battery life and the percentage stays the same overnight unplugged.
Obviously it breaks hibernation, but hopefully when a new firmware is released to fix the battery bug, you can reactivate hibernation by going
command prompt, **type****powercfg.exe /**hibernate on
