Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this?

The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

Is this with a Surface Laptop 2?

    *Edit to add*

I just realized that I've had hibernation disabled this whole time, so that obviously isn't a fix/workaround for me. (shrug).

This seems to have fixed the problem for me.

I disabled hibernate, fully charged my laptop, shutdown, unplugged it, and left it for an hour. When I turned it back on it was still at 100%. Previously it was going from 100% to 75% even after being turned off only for a few minutes.

    Thank you very much Wahey03!!

When I shutdown from the power menu, I unplugged the power and after switching back on after 30 minutes, it was still at 100%.

What I'm specifically interested in is what happens when you charge to 100%,
shut down at night and leave unplugged all night as to what the battery % looks
like when you turn it on the next morning.

I've tested it with both shutdown and sleep.

After the 1909 update didn't resolve anything 3/4 days ago, I decided to rollback to 1803 and just disable hibernation.

(From there I did some testing as I needed to use the laptop on the road the coming week.)

When I shutdown from the power menu, I unplugged the power and after switching back on after 30 minutes, it was still at 100%.

I then tested it overnight, and I got the same result, 100% at night and 100% in the morning too (obviously, from then on I'd leave it charging overnight - because most people leave the charger plugged in at home I'd imagine).

Sleep mode (via the power button on the keyboard) works pretty well too, with maybe 1 or 2% drain throughout the day.  I was very impressed with the battery life when I got it, and I'm just glad that there is a workaround until Microsoft release a proper firmware fix that will sort all this out.
