Battery drain overnight while shutdown

Lately, after I shutdown (full shutdown, not sleep or hibernate) my fully charged Surface Laptop 2 at night, I turn it on in the morning and find that the battery has lost around 25% power overnight! What's going on and how can I fix this? 

The laptop is only about 6 months old and the battery seems to be in good health.

    No Barb, in the past, it would actually show the Firmware separate during the download and installation of the Preview Build.  For the past five builds I received, the only thing that comes across in Windows Update is the Preview Build itself.  Nothing else except a Windows Defender definition.

    The Firmware is built into the build itself.  If not, it would show on the list and as you can see, it is NOT on the list!  No Firmware update came across to upgrade it - just the build.

    As for the HP printer drivers, they corrected themselves which they usually do.

    Right now, am on battery and I might even get eight or more hours of use while on battery.  Checking for battery duration because I think that power management may have been fixed.

    By the way, I think that the actual loss may be bogus and is actually a false reading of the battery gauge.  Not everybody will have the exact same percentage drop of power (75%).

    This whole issue may get resolved with the Pro 7s when they come out with AMD Rizen processors.

    There are several battery issues. This thread started as one about Surface

    Laptop  2 and was initially about SL2's (and expanded to other devices that

    turned out to be impacted like SP6, etc.) showing a 100-75% (25% drop

    overnight). For those folks, this seemed to commence when they installed

    firmware labeled "improves battery performance".

    For SP4 specifically, there are several threads about battery drain overnight,

    going back at least a couple of years. So they can't all be related to the

    recent firmware release. To me that suggests different causes. Whether a single

    fix or work around will remedy all of these cases is unknown.

    Good keen eye & reading 👍 @Barb, now you why it leads to SMT (Super Scaler is not yet fully optimized for these desktop processors yet)  Mutlithreading was always enabled since Hyper Threading was introduced pre2k.  It is the way how is it going about to handle older processor type since the intro of AMD Ryzen 5 & Intel Core i9 series which has OOBE for MultiThreading (SMT)

    Running an MSI won't install an older version of FIRMWARE. As far as I know, you
    can't uninstall or revert Surface firmware to an older version.
