Surface book: April 2020 firmware updates bricked my device

This morning my surface book downloaded some firmware updates and asked for me to restart my device.

However, after the first restart, I find that the surface book is in a constant restart state. I cannot even force it to shut down or boot the UEFI menu.

This is exactly what it does:

Every 10 seconds or so, it will turn on, show me the "Surface" boot logo, and after 1 second immediately turns off. It does not even reach any Windows boot up sequence.

Could I please get some advice on what to do or how to fix this?

Update: Seems the common factor between everyone who is having the issue is that the secure boot is disabled (I.e. there is a 'red strip' shown with an unlock icon being shown). 

Update 2: I have been told my Microsoft that they believe the fault has nothing to do with them. The high number of people who are in this thread with the exact same issue clearly shows that the fault is NOT ours. We are now looking to take legal action as this forced firmware update caused damage to our devices, for which we require compensation from Microsoft (a fix or a replacement free of charge).

    Sorry. Im taking online courses too. I had no choice but to buy a Mac or fail the entire semester. Im one semester away from a double major so bye student loans. The money all went to a new laptop after I paid $1699 for a Surface Book 2 just eight months earlier. Considering I can barely afford food with no work and a pandemic... Microsoft are just a bunch of pukes. I feel your pain. Microsoft... who you probably paid thousands to... as I did... could care less. Done with their products. There’s clearly a better product out there. Even a Dell. But Microsoft Surface products are nothing bit a scam.. pay thousands and get bricked by a forced update.

    Because of the pandemic, my lessons went online. I cannot attend my classes with my SURFACE because microsoft broke it with bios update. I'm still waiting.....

    Clearly they “pooped” the bed with their update and have no idea how to fix it. Either that or it was purposeful. Point is people like you, me and countless others are just left wondering what to do. Stuck without a computer and potemtially lost tons of sensatice data. And you know they are aware of these threads which only makes it so much worse.

     Not even a single response from these pukes. 

    And that is the single worst thing about the situation. Microsoft is actively ignoring us and hoping this would go away.

    The last email I got from them, they said that they would put me through to a technical advisor who would at least explain 'how this is not their fault'. 

    I took them up on the offer and since then, nothing. Not a single word or reply from them.

    That sucks. Im sorry. Its almost like Microsoft is marketing for Apple products with the way this happened. If you read earlier threads, people who were out of warranty were offered the opportunity to pay thousands for a new device by Microsoft support. Instead... in my case... Apple got $3k from me for a new MacBook, AirPods and a series 5 watch. Microsoft’s handling of this (because I know I did NOTHING to brick the device) pushed me right into Apple’s pockets. Guess they have so many customers they need to alienate a bunch of them. Oh well, no worries now. My MacBook is way out performing that Surface Book 2 anyways. I have to admit... i liked the touch screen and the detachable screen that turned into a tablet... well thats if the battery lasted longer than 30 min. In summary... Microsoft sucks. You know they see these threads too. Not even a single response from these pukes.
