Pen pressure and tapering problems

I love the new SP4 pen, but I've noticed the pen pressure is not consistent. The biggest problem is that paint brush strokes in Photoshop don't taper smoothly when drawing. I tired using the SP4 pen on my Surface Pro 3 and it doesn't have any problem. Here is a screen capture of what I'm talking about.

Since the pen isn't the problem I'm assuming it's a calibration issue with the Surface Pro 4. I downloaded new Wintab drivers to see if that would solve the problem (got the idea from this thread about pen problems).

It's not just Photoshop. The actual Surface pen pressure app has the same problem. It's harder to see because the brush strokes are thinner, but there is a much faster tapering happening than there is on the Surface Pro 3. Here is a screen cap:

Hey Everyone!

Thanks for all the feedback!

As some of you have already noticed, on July 14th, 2016, we released an update to the Surface Touch Driver that should significantly improve the pen tapering and pressure experience that this thread talks about.

For more information on the 7/14 update, you can go here.

If you experience any difficulty downloading or installing updates, please check the Troubles installing Surface and Windows updates article for assistance.

Thanks!

Zachary

    Any update on this?

When should we be expecting this future update? Could you please give us a heads up so we at least know if MS is still working on this or not?

Also here to make some noise...

On January 9 2016, Josh_F posted MS is aware of the issue and are working on fixing it.

Now, THREE MONTHS LATER there hasn't been any update from microsoft. Feels like there's not enough people complaining so they can keep this issue under the rug.

I bought a Surface 4 after I saw Josh_F's comment and was confident Microsoft was about the fix this issue in one of the following updates. But this is a real letdown...

Already added to the noise a few moths ago, but I'm adding again, as pushed by Brad's video, since this is still not solved and has no other kind answer, for that matter.

To the artists the tapering/sensitivity issue is clearly the elephant in the room, in what respects the Surface Pro 4.

And it's easy to feel cheated because when launching the SP3, Microsoft sent a clear message of caring for the arts and design comunity. Then, after the comunity invested in the product, Microsoft turns unresponsive... it doesn't feel right.

Though I'm not getting rid of my Surfae Pro 4 (it was too expensive for that!) I'm certainly not be going to be one of the first adopters to any new Microsoft product again. And of course, I'm feeling much more inclined to switch over to the competition if the oportunity and quality of said products ever present themselves (getting close...).

Hope this gets ironed out soon.

    Cheers!
