I love the new SP4 pen, but I've noticed the pen pressure is not consistent. The biggest problem is that paint brush strokes in Photoshop don't taper smoothly when drawing. I tired using the SP4 pen on my Surface Pro 3 and it doesn't have any problem. Here is a screen capture of what I'm talking about.
Since the pen isn't the problem I'm assuming it's a calibration issue with the Surface Pro 4. I downloaded new Wintab drivers to see if that would solve the problem (got the idea from this thread about pen problems).
It's not just Photoshop. The actual Surface pen pressure app has the same problem. It's harder to see because the brush strokes are thinner, but there is a much faster tapering happening than there is on the Surface Pro 3. Here is a screen cap:

As some of you have already noticed, on July 14th, 2016, we released an update to the Surface Touch Driver that should significantly improve the pen tapering and pressure experience that this thread talks about.

Yes, it's never been an issue with Manga studio, or artrage. Zbrush is my other 3d sculpting app, and it doesn't recognising touchscreen pressure at all. I need to see if the change might have changed that though.
Are you telling me, it never was an issue for apps that was not Adobe?
While that may have been the case for you, it was not so for me :)
Prior to the firmware update yesterday, I experienced the same poor experience with OneNote, Plumbago, and any integrated Windows Ink experience. I never tried it in Adobe though :)
Thomas, if you use any other drawing or paint app other than adobes, there hasn't been an issue. I've been using Manga studio and artrage since the day after I installed my see I bought my surface in Jan without any noticeable issue at all.
There's a very vocal adobe cheerleading contigent blowing the issue out if proportion, and if those smaller companies could have fixed the issue, there is no good reason why Adobe couldn't have as well. The adobe interfaces also need a huge facelift for high res touch screen displays like the surface.

Still, not giving a heads up for 6-7 month was a terrible decision and not transparent at all. I wish the Microsoft support team would listen to our insider boss and tribe leader ;)
