Surface Laptop 3 Restarting Randomly

I have the power settings set to NOT restart when the power is plugged in and NOT to go into sleep mode. 

Even with these settings the laptop restarts randomly. I'll be writing code and it restarts. Its random.

AMD Ryzen 7 Microsoft Surface Edition 2.30 GHz

16.0 GB RAM

We published new improvements and fixes for Surface Laptop 3 that improve device stability. You can get updates now by checking Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update. We recommend that you install these updates to keep your Surface performing its best.

    Having the exact same issue. Purchased used/returned from Best Buy at, what I thought to be at the time, a great price.

    Within three hours of set-up and coding some data it restarted three times, always after returning to my work when the computer is asleep. Not happy at all about this software glitch, I do not run any third party software and a factory reset did nothing to address this issue. Will be returning promptly and looking for alternative options...

    I've exactly the same problem with Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM. Brand new laptop purchased yesterday, nothing installed apart from Google Chrome, reboots randomly. All updates are up to date in 'Windows Updates'.

    I've turned of AMD audio compressor ability to turn laptop off (fix from another thread) will see how it goes, but it was for sleep problem, so not sure if applies to this as well.

    Hi JasonSanterre,

    Thanks for your response on this. We totally understand you there, Jason. We are still into this. For sure this is an inconvenient in your part but,  Is it possible if we proceed on some Reset on your device as of the moment? In that way we can check if this is a Software concern only on your device. Please let me know if that helps.

    As I mentioned I took it out of the box, did all updates, and then installed Visual Studio and SQL Management Studio. So i have had no experience prior to this. I owned a Surface Pro 3 prior to this Surface Laptop 3 and it had these 2 applications and way way more on it it. I had no issues ever. I would even have 2 versions of MS SQL Management Studio running, 3 instances of Visual Studio running as well as Photoshop and other things literally open and running and the Surface Pro 3 didn't even skip a beat. 

    Keep in mind it doesn't matter if I have those applications running or not. It still restarts randomly. Between 30 minutes to about 3 hours and then it restarts. Isn't there a log file I can send you from the computer that gives you information about why its restarting?

    I use this as a work laptop so I can't be without the software on the laptop. I purchased this laptop because I thought it would be better than my Surface Pro 3 it replaced.
