I have the power settings set to NOT restart when the power is plugged in and NOT to go into sleep mode.
Even with these settings the laptop restarts randomly. I'll be writing code and it restarts. Its random.

Exact same issues as others. Took first one back within a week after my own attempts to fix didn't address the random blue screen of death or restarts from sleep. They exchanged it no questions asked and just said it must be a lemon. Two weeks later, same thing happening with its replacement.
Thankfully, this has not happened at mission critical times to this point, but it is only a matter of time that I will be working on a deadline and this were the happen. I have lost my work a few times, but nothing huge so far.
Never had these issues with other surface items, but I am going to have to return this one and get something different.
Unbelievable to pay this much for a device, and they cannot figure out something this crucial.
Sad thing is I've been on the phone with Microsoft tech support for a long time. Hours even. And they tell me that the only solution is to reset my entire computer. Which I don't think is the problem because I see other people having the same issue.
That being said they also tell me that I'm the only one that's ever reported this issue. I find that hard to believe as well.
Same here, Pro 7 1 week old. Interesting there are no possible resolutions there are being throw around here. Everyone having this random shutdown problem, going through all the obvious fixes, ie power setting, power buttons, sleep mode, no sleep mode. None of these things working. Dam, after all the research and deciding on this model. Im starting to think it could have something to do with gen 10 cpu, maybe Iris Plus?
Has there been any resolution to this? Got this same laptop for Xmas and it's great...until it started sleeping/restarting randomly...
