I have the power settings set to NOT restart when the power is plugged in and NOT to go into sleep mode.

Even with these settings the laptop restarts randomly. I'll be writing code and it restarts. Its random.

    Hi

Have anybody solved this? I have now received a replacement unit but I still have the same issue. When the machine goes into sleep or shut down the screen and try to restart is boots randomly.

@Microsoft - could you please admit it this is faulty designed laptop here. It cannot be right that you cannot close the lit on a laptop like this without it boots randomly.

    Best Regards

    BINET

Some people have posted that their replacement surface devices have worked which would suggest a faulty batch of machines rather than a design flaw.  I work in IT and quickly concluded - without trying the driver rollback - that neither I nor my retailer’s tech support line could identify (hence fix) the cause of the fault. I then obtained a full refund from the retailer and have since bought a competing product.

I have tried all of the suggested "fixes" and none of them solve the problem.  Anyway, the "fixes" do not correct a faulty design that Microsoft will not fix.
