I have the power settings set to NOT restart when the power is plugged in and NOT to go into sleep mode.
Even with these settings the laptop restarts randomly. I'll be writing code and it restarts. Its random.

I'm having a similar issue. Tried a factory reset, but problem didn't go away. My computer restarts itself as often as every 15-20 minutes. It's gotten increasingly worse over they past several weeks.
Not sure if that is an option in the UK but I have raised case with the retailer also to see if I can get replaced ( with a different model ) but not holding my breath. Despite not being able to use this device for 2 or 3 days Microsoft yet the confirm replacement.
Sadly the Surface Fix fix did NOT last. After 10 days, the reboots started up again (to be honest, I wasn't using the laptop much during that 10 days as I was moving). It has since rebooted once yesterday and today. I have been diligent about not keeping it plugged in after it is fully charged (like I should have with my Surface Book) so I now believe that the problem may be related to the initial power charge as it seems to happen when I first plug it in. I actually have NOT opened a ticket on this as I know Microsoft is going to tell me to reinstall, yada, yada, yada and I don't want to do that. I am curious if others have noticed if the issue occurs only on battery or on power?
I am going to hold out a bit longer for a fix as I don't look forward to moving to ANOTHER computer, but for those who HAVE opened a ticket and are not getting anywhere with the MS support people, I highly recommend reporting them to the BBB. They are forced to respond to BBB complaints.
