I have the power settings set to NOT restart when the power is plugged in and NOT to go into sleep mode.
Even with these settings the laptop restarts randomly. I'll be writing code and it restarts. Its random.

Return it and buy a business version with Intel processors/chipset as this works. The AMD model is junk and rebooting has not been resolved.
Did this issue get resolved for you? I just purchased a Surface Laptop 3 with the same specs and it reboots constantly. Wondering if I should just return it or if you were able to get yours to work. Thanks!

About a month or so ago, also got fed up with the constant reboots (that started right as soon as I got my new Surface) and opened a ticket with Microsoft. Microsoft had me do a hard reset (as they always do) and my Surface went into a loop and wouldn't recover (it just kept giving an error and rebooting constantly until the battery drained). I actually got my replacement Surface fairly quickly and have NO issues with the replacement so I HIGHLY recommend going ahead and opening a ticket to replace your computer. Of course backup your data before doing any kind of reset is also HIGHLY recommended.
