no, it shouldn't. But it has always been an issue with my Surface 3, despite my many attempts to get help in resolution with MS. Have done all they have suggested, to no avail. This is the only solution I have found. My tablet is now out of warranty, so
I cannot expect further help from MS. Does make me wonder where I will go when this unit trundles off to never-never land, as I am 70, in poor health and only use it for minimal purposes. Cannot justify the expense of the higher end Surface tablet.
Other than this particular problem, I love the Surface 3. It was almost perfect for me.
