I just received my surface 3 about a week or two. Since then, I've been able to play videos without any problems. Until a few day ago I've noticed that the videos won't play on sites like YouTube, tumblr. If I click on a link, the video will begin to load, and then player will turn black and an error message will display. I havent done any updates recently or installed anything that might be messing with the videos. So I don't know if anyone else has had this issue and may know a way to solve it?

I've been using Microsoft edge and I have tested to see if the videos would play on browsers such as internet explorer nd I was having this issue. I have since done a few updates on my computer and the issue has been resolved. Thank for replying though :)

With a new device the best first step is to ensure you have all the latest updates. See here.
Assuming you are using the Netflix app you may also consider checking Windows Store to see if you have any apps, i.e. Netflix, have updates available.

As re: the battery - I am now having to keep it charging most of the time - have two cords for this; one, next to my recliner and one next to my bed. If I am streaming a movie, my charge drops rapidly, unless the tablet is plugged in.
I am sedentary due to health issues and my Surface 3 is my constant companion. There is probably something I could do to conserve power, but I don't understand what.
Anyway, the power management tab is on the file that one pulls up when one follows the procedure to locate the Realtk driver. There are two options under it - the first one being the one I am talking about.
Have not experienced many of the issues you mention - just the sound/video thing, an occasional problem with network adaptor settings and times when my cover keyboard has a hissy fit. This last is usually mended by giving the screen a good cleaning and restarting.
interestingly, I just tried a plain restart and it seems to have worked.....this time. I notice that my keyboard quit working as well - and found that my battery was in dire need of recharging. Once I plugged in and restarted, it has come back. I wonder if the audio/video thing has something to do with that little checked box under the power saving thingie on the driver window. I can uncheck it, but it keeps rechecking itself - the one that has to do with turning off the sound/video when the battery is at a certain point.
What power saving thingie on the driver window? I don't use a keyboard. Why would your battery be in dire need of recharging? You run it down that low? I keep mine plugged in almost all the time. when my video goes out, the sound goes out as well. Actually affects the whole regular surfing as well. Pages only load in partially, and everything is generally a mess. I push the volume button, and it stays up on the screen, and the volume has a mind of it's own. It goes up and down by itself. Sometime I have to use task manager to close everything out. Locks up that bad.
