Thank you for getting back to us, Nigel. The next step you can follow is to uninstall and reinstall your audio driver to repair a possibly corrupted audio driver. To do that, refer to these steps:
- Go to Device Manager (Windows key + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click on your sound card and choose Uninstall device. Do not delete the driver software.
- Restart the Surface Go. It will automatically reinstall the driver we removed.
If you get the same results after following the steps above, try to disable audio enhancements. Right-click on the speakers icon on your taskbar again > choose Sounds> go to the Playbacktab > select the speaker in use > Properties> go to the Enhancementstab > select the Disable all enhancements check box. Do this for all Playback devices you have (list of devices in the Playback tab).
