Surface Laptop 3 Faint Buzzing Sound

Hello,

I’ve got the i5 8GB Surface Laptop 3 (13.5-inch), and today, while browsing the internet, I noticed a fairly faint  buzzing sound coming from under the keyboard. It was faint enough you couldn’t hear it from a couple metres away, and sometimes buzzed continuously, other times buzzed in short repetitive bursts.

It didn’t sound like the fan to me, so I opened up the task manager to see if browsing was straining the computer in some way.

I have updated the computer completely, but the buzzing persisted.

Is this a normal electronics problem? Is it actually just the fan? Or is it possibly a defective unit?

Edit/Update:

I took the device into the MS Store today to see if there was something wrong. The staff took it into the back and tested it. They found increasing the computer's workload caused the sound to increase and described it as a popping static-y sound. They replaced the device and I have a new one now. Unfortunately, I've found through usage that this one is also making the sound. I am waiting to see if a firmware update reduces the noise since it seems pervasive across the devices.

    I have Surface Laptop 3 i7-10675G7  with intel GPU

    Been hearing this noise since the first day I had this laptop.

    I just installed the latest windows update as suggested.

    The pattern of the noise changed from

    on 3 seconds, off 3 seconds

    to just a more or less constant faint, weaker buzz, audible when you put your hear next to the keyboard

    This is quite a bit more tolerable but it's still there

    Hi guys! I just bought the i5 8GB Surface Laptop 3 (13.5-inch) and I have the same buzzing sound! Did anyone figure out what the problem was?

    No solution unfortunately and probably not going to have one anytime soon, You can ask for a replacement, however, everyone i know who did it here including myself - the issue still remains.

    What is the cost to repair whatever the loud buzz is. Do all models of Surface have the buzz? I cannot communicate with patients on zoom because the buzz is too loud. And Microsoft has no response?  I had considered buying a new Surface, but apparently  there is no assurance it won’t develop the same irritating buzz.

    You said you are running " My Windows is 1909 (18363.815)" - the 18362 msi is
    for 18362 and 18363. The other msi is older and is for an older version of
    Windows 10.
