Having same issue and unable to update buds.
Surface left ear bud not working after update
Since the latest update 3.0.0.5, my left surface earbud has not been working. Also, I am only able to connect to my Windows 10 laptop. My Android Samsung Note 9 and Samsung Tab 6 do not recognise the Surface earbuds anymore. Arrrgh.

2020-09-26T16:25:43+00:00 this happened to me after I tried to update my earbuds. I tried all the online suggestions listed here to no avail. I finally deleted the Surface Audio program and reset the case, now the earbuds work. Reinstalled the program, tried updating again and then lost sound in the left earbud. Deleting the program again since it seems to be the program, not the earbuds.

2020-08-28T05:39:05+00:00 The issue came right for me in the end but don't know why. I did have the buds linked to my Samsung Galaxy Tab 6, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and HP Elite Laptop. I disconnected from my HP and that seems to have fixed the issue, however I don't know for sure if that was the issue.

Has this been resolved? I just received my surface earbuds yesterday and can not get the left earbud to produce any sound.

2020-06-09T18:06:48+00:00 I'm having same issue with my new Surface earbuds left ear not working. I'll try updating but frustrating to have this on a new product. The set up was easy.
