My webcam isn't working. Hardware or software?

Good day,

My Surfacebook 2's front webcam is not working lately. When I open the camera app it sends my pc into a bluescreen force restart. When it does not, my front webcam just appears to be black. I tried multiple solutions such as the 20 second shut down, updating the Intel(R) AVStream Camera 2500 and even going into uefi bios to see if the camera was toggled off. My rear-facing camera works though.

I hope you can help me because I need it for online classes.

    Thanks I'll definitely try that. But as of now I am in the middle of a shortsem and multiple assignments are due soon so I will try that when things cool down. I'll keep you posted

    Yeah, unfortunately the problem still persists.
