Surface Book 2 GPU Driver disappears randomly after May 2019 update

Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140

Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

There are some updates that were pushed to PRODUCTION today https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4055398/surface-book-2-update-history You do NOT need to join Insiders to get these.

October 2019 updates

The following updates are available for all Surface Book 2 devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803 or greater:

    Try the workaround I posted in my previous message before losing time to do a clean install of a 1809 release, it should work on an updated version of Windows 1903, tested so far with many app/game and no more BSOD. I tried also to update the GPU driver to the latest version (436.30) and it works for now. Downside is that the GPU will go to max frequencies when a configured app is executed.

    They must release an updated driver to fix it, very soon, but I think that the workaround posted is far better than rolling back with a clean install ;)

    Hi guys, 

    I have been following this forum for a few months now, hoping for a fix to be posted. I have now decided to bite the bullet and also rollback to 1809. 

    This may seem like a simple question, how do I get my hands on a legitimate download of Win 10 1809? I presume that the standard Windows Media Creation tool will download 1903. 

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Panos is already posting for new surfaces now. I have no trust and patience for any hardware from Microsoft now.

    Hope the SurfaceBook 3 is born with the same bug we have.
