Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140
Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

Its been 3 months since the issue got officially recognized by MS so don't bother asking them anything. They don't care for us the users. I even went to one of their stores and the only solution was to rollback to an year old OS version?!?!?!? OR - recognize I can't use the GPU I paid for.....
Complete disgrace for a company of that caliber - just an army of amateurs not being able to make their own OS work with their own devices.
Just get used to the idea that you just like me and many other bought a very expensive tablets that are not doing what they are supposed to be - or in other words we got robbed....
Year after year they try to upset and alienate as many users as they can and pretend like this is natural. Windows Mobile 10, Groove, Xbox One.... I am sure the list will continue here
As a long time /decades/ Apple opponent this is the first time I am actually seriously considering of switching to their platform. The only thing keeping me in the MS camp is my occasional gaming habits.
What is crazy is they have a Surface event this coming week and have yet to fix this issue. I think out of the almost two years of ownership of the SB2. It worked for maybe 1-2 months without issues leaving over 20 months of issues. 6+ months of throttling/gpu issues, 6 months of the power button stopping to work after a firmware update, months of BSODs, etc. Haha
You are right now they are fully focused on getting the new crop of dummies to be fooled of buying devices so we are put on the queue as we already paid and there is nothing to be gained from us.
I also had a lot of issues with bugs, odd behavior, broken feature:
These are just some of the few I am got used to and it seems like MS is not be bothered to fix or improve. I am not even discussing the occasional bugs that come and go with every update and patch. Also there is the half effort to minimize the damage to Windows Mobile users with the MS apps for Android and iOS....
Sorry for the rant but this is getting too much for me.
This situation is absolutely atrocious.
I, however, only have myself to blame. For years I have vowed never to 'buy into' the whole, shiny, over priced, self gratifying world of apple, but when the Surface book (2) came out I eagerly jumped in, and now here we are.
I never, in a million years, thought microsoft would (or even, could) stoop to the depths of apple, but I stand corrected, they have taken my money and f#*ked my expensive hardware up beyond usability!
How much more 'apple' can you get!
Thank you microsoft for re-opening my eyes.
("NEVER buy apple or microsoft" repeat)
