Surface Book 2 GPU Driver disappears randomly after May 2019 update

Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140

Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

There are some updates that were pushed to PRODUCTION today https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4055398/surface-book-2-update-history You do NOT need to join Insiders to get these.

October 2019 updates

The following updates are available for all Surface Book 2 devices running Windows 10 April 2018 Update, version 1803 or greater:

    Which recent updates? The ones for 10/10? What apps/programs are you using when the Nvidia driver crashes? Have you tried uninstalling the NVidia driver and restarting?

    Yeah I installed them through following instructions to join the insider program on 10/9, everything is now up to date in Windows Update.

    Here's what happened this time that led to the crash, all while only using Google Chrome (with the mail app also open)

    1. Heard the disconnect chime
    2. Opened task manager, saw that the NVIDIA GPU was gone
    3. Pressed the surface detach button, and when given the go-ahead, detached
    4. Re-attached, and checked task manager to see if the NVIDIA GPU was back (indeed it was)
    5. Went about my business in Chrome for a couple minutes until the crash happened

    This is not my first BSOD since the updates. I just uninstalled the NVIDIA driver as you suggested and will restart now, fingers crossed that it does something.

    If you are running 1903 you need SurfaceBook2_Win10_18362_19.101.13994.0.msi

Since these don't show up in Windows update history, I was only able to confirm that the Surface System Aggregator – Firmware is now 182.1004.139.0 and Surface UEFI – Firmware is now 389.2837.768.0 but any idea where I can check that the Surface Base 2 Firmware Update – Firmware successfully updated to 1.75.139.0 ? Thank you
