Hi, just recently installed the Windows 10 May update on my Surface Book 2. Now the GPU disappears randomly while in use. The only solution is to reboot the Surface Book 2, or go into the device manager and initiate a scan for the GPU to come back again. It has Nvidia Gforce GTX 1050 version 23.21.13.9140
Are there any plans for Microsoft to release an updated driver to fix this bug?

For me, the BSOD screens when using the dGPU started after updating to 1903 version of Windows, as for the dGPU disconnections.
Before updating to 1903 release, I never experienced a BSOD screen for a GPU driver issue and never experienced dGPU disconnections.
I don't know if it's strictly connected to dGPU issues, but the CPU throttling is for sure another severe issue of this device, it might be related to the usage of the iGPU and from 3 months till now I have it quite every day (here is summer and temperatures are always > 28°C). You can find more details on the throttling bug here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/94uac9/lets_talk_about_the_sb2_infamous_04ghz_throttling/
The sad thing is that with these two bugs, not yet solved after many months, any Surface Book 2 really becomes unusable.
No it was not. This thread is specifically about a consistent, reproducible dGPU disconnect issue that started under v1903. Please take any other issues to another thread.
Hey bud this is my thread... I started it. It was merged with some other threads of people posting issues. Look at the first posts if you don't believe me... mine is dated first!
If you want a recap...
GPU issues started in 1803/1809...
They started as disconnects
There are also issues with black screens
Also issues with SB2 hibernating and then BSOD upon power on or black screen likely related to GPU
This dated all of the way back to last FALL so 1803/1809.
Now there are also issues with CPU throttling which seems to be tied to the GPU. They started in 1809 and carried over into 1903.
I am in direct contact with someone at Microsoft who is in contact directly with the team working on the new GPU driver. I am in queue to beta test it once its available. Its not available yet. I was one of the first people to report the GPU issues and try to escalate them and have spent many hours troubleshooting this with folks at Microsoft. The issue is Microsoft did not care to solve the issues until they started getting some heat in the media and posts on large tech blogs.
When the issue is this critical, where you are completely prevented from working, you'd expect them to expedite the process.
Their firmware update shortly after the SB2 was released disabled the POWER button for many people. It wasn't fixed for SIX months IIRC.
