No it is happening to my Surface Pro 7 with an I5 chip as well
New Surface Pro 7 shutting down randomly
I'm tired of all these issues now. At first, a few days ago, I was working on this laptop and it shut down randomly. I switched it on, but again it shut down randomly. In 20 minutes, this happened thrice. I tried something, and then it worked fine for a day. Then today again, it is happening. The diagnostic kit says there's nothing wrong. Please help.

2020-04-01T09:00:38+00:00 I received a new Surface Pro 7 this afternoon from Amazon. Within 4 hours of use, the laptop shut off unexpectedly four times. Each time the laptop shut down, I had to reboot the laptop and reopen applications that were open before the shut down. I am returning the laptop tomorrow, and going with another brand. I am very busy, and do not have time to deal with an unreliable laptop.

2020-04-04T12:42:57+00:00 OMG thank you soooo much. It really does work. I left my laptop idle for 20-30 mins and it didn't shut down!!!!!! Some people did say that the laptop does shut down after about 25 mins. If that is happening, you can change the settings to sleep/hibernate after 20mins. After all, whats the point in leaving you system unattended for such a long time? Once again, thanksssssss a lot
