New Surface Pro 7 shutting down randomly

I'm tired of all these issues now. At first, a few days ago, I was working on this laptop and it shut down randomly. I switched it on, but again it shut down randomly. In 20 minutes, this happened thrice. I tried something, and then it worked fine for a day. Then today again, it is happening. The diagnostic kit says there's nothing wrong. Please help.

    I have the exact same issue with randomly shutting down. And it does this very often, sometimes within less than a full minute of inactivity. All settings and power plan are switched to "never". However, mine still does it when it is plugged in (charding) as well, but it doesn't seem to do it as quickly. I haven't tried having music playing at all times, but I guess that will be my next option until this issue is resolved somehow with Microsoft. Will there be an update or something sent out once the issue is identified and resolved?

    Thank you for sharing this! I have been fighting this and have tried everything to no avail, but this seems to have worked. It hasn't turned off in over an hour now!

    crazy how i see this is a common issue amongst other users. I honestly thought I was the only one and because I work from my laptop I haven't gotten the problem checked out. Now I will thank you guys

    I’m having the same issue with my Microsoft pro 7. If my laptop is idle for longer than 5 seconds, it will shut off. I would like to resolve this issue before Jan 24 when my semester starts. I can’t afford to have this problem during my studies.

    There is a fix. Go to the Windows Store app, download Intel Graphics Command Center.

    Open it.

    Click on the "4 squares" setting on the left side. (just above the question mark)

    Go to "power" tab - across the top

    Turn off Panel Self Refresh, (and I also turned off Display Power Savings)

    Restart the computer

    This fixed ours.
