I'm tired of all these issues now. At first, a few days ago, I was working on this laptop and it shut down randomly. I switched it on, but again it shut down randomly. In 20 minutes, this happened thrice. I tried something, and then it worked fine for a day. Then today again, it is happening. The diagnostic kit says there's nothing wrong. Please help.

The second set of steps where you open up the system file checker fixed my issue. My surface pro 7 kept randomly shutting down and glitching out when I tried to reboot it. After doing these steps I found corrupted files that the diagnostic test and all the security checks couldn't find. The system automatically repaired them and my laptop and it's now running perfectly! Definitely felt like a hacker though, got a little confusing but Microsoft had it layed out step by step for me.

On our Surface Pro 7's we have finally found what was (one of many factors) causing the random shutdowns.

We run Trend Micro "Worry Free Business Edition" (haha) ... Turns out, running Windows 10 build 2004 with Trend causes the random shutdowns when sleeping. remove Trend, SP7 is perfect.

Has been given back to Trend to sort out but for the time being, we are no longer using Trend.
