I'm tired of all these issues now. At first, a few days ago, I was working on this laptop and it shut down randomly. I switched it on, but again it shut down randomly. In 20 minutes, this happened thrice. I tried something, and then it worked fine for a day. Then today again, it is happening. The diagnostic kit says there's nothing wrong. Please help.

This worked for me! Make sure you download the beta version though. I couldn't find the settings on the regular version.

yes, this solution solved my problem too just today. Actually this afternoon, i got call from the Microsoft service center and a guy told me he can help me to fix it by remote assistant. he operate from the "Quick Assist" and when he operate, i realized that what he did is just installed this "Inter Graphics Command"! it's funny right, what they did is a solution originally came from the forum! However it works! The guy told me so far 90% of the "auto-shutdown" cases can be fixed by this method!  And this fix will not change your screen resolution, brightness, etc.

So, Bro "JamesSmith2020", please just call the service center and they will help you to operate.

When the first day i found this problem, i also disappointed and kept thinking of return the unit and probably buy another regular laptop. But i indeed really love the sexy design of this Surface pro and reluctantly to go back! Also, i don't like the IPAD pro because after all it is just a good entertainment tool rather than a work station.

Just like you said, it is an expensive unit and you choice for a good reason.  So fix it and keep it!:)

It's just mind boggling that it has been going for as far back as December of last year and the problem is yet to be fix "officially".   I also got mine to work using Intel Command.  I noticed that occasionally it still shut down by itself when in Sleep Mode for too long.  (I can usually tell because I would often have Chrome up and it would ask to Restore).  And same as you I choose Surface Pro because it run Windows and can adequately serve as tablet (still inferior to iPad or even Android).  It's my first Surface product and probably going to look for other solution next time.

I've fixed it on my SP7 i7/16G/512G by installing the Intel Graphics Command

    available. See

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfpro7-surfdrivers/surface-pro-7-shutting-down-randomly/070429f1-ad5e-48eb-acaa-6daca59739b0?messageId=2488483a-efa2-4237-8605-423c0ddacc4c

However, here is a temporary work around from another customer that seems to

resolve the issue for many others

Thanks tried that before with no result did a fresh reinstal - gone try it again for good measure. Keep you posted.
