Problem with IMAP email on Surface Duo

I am having trouble seeing up an IMAP email account in Outlook on a Surface Duo.  Outlook support says there's nothing wrong with Outlook and that it's either my login info or server settings. The email service provider says I am entering login info and settings correctly. The same login and server settings work in Outlook on my iPhone.

Is there something about the Duo, the hardware, the operating system, or other Duo-specific thing that can be causing this problem? 

My Exchange mail and Microsoft Account mail works on Outlook on the Duo.

Indeed there is a problem using the Microsoft Outlook App on a Surface Duo. I cannot get my PRO Yahoo email account configured with Outlook. Although Yahoo reports every time a succesful authentication (also using the Yahoo non-OAUTH2 methode). But the Outlook App reports just a failure,,,

Same issue. I loaded one of the email freebee apps and it connects immediately. If I use those settings, outlook app says service not available. If I use the settings in my galaxy phone, same issue. If I let the outlook app decide, same issue. One more try and it's back in the box to MS.

Did you generate a custom password per the Yahoo security settings page?

Sorry I don’t use yahoo so I can’t help there. I will be calling support to make them work through this, maybe that will help. Failing that, back to Samsung. If they have anything to say I will post it.
