You can download the .apk file and install it. I did that for word and excel. connect phone to pc with usb and copy it. you may need to enable side loading of apps.

When will Excel be available for the Surface Duo?? The ability to access Excel files on something marketed as a productivity device would be important.

Excel is included in the Office App, as is Word and PowerPoint. It also includes other helpful applications -
