Does it cost money to ask MS a question on the live chat after warranty expiration?  It says this will cost you $29 before I go any farther.  Surely it does not cost $29 to ask a question.  Please tell me I'm wrong.  If so, I just bought this computer a few months ago and I will sell it tomorrow and go back to Apple and be the loudest unhappy camper on social media ever.  My computer shows it is in a town hours away from me in the "find my computer" application....is there a way I can fix this on my own so I can actually find it if it is lost or stolen?  Thanks for the help community :-)!

  1. the answer to the $29 question is "it depends". But if you are in the US, you can go to a physical retail Microsoft Store and they will assist without charging $29. And you can post questions HERE first for free.
  2. You can't really use find my computer to actually pin point the location if it is stolen (even if it was more accurate) - you need an external program like lojack for laptops.
