I got this message 30 mins after creating the account and loading 100$ into it,

"Your access to Microsoft Advertising is currently blocked

We have detected unusual activity in your Microsoft Advertising account. As a security precaution, we have suspended your account and blocked your access.

You can no longer sign in with this user name or email address.

To resolve this issue, please contact Support."

I have never used microsoft ads before, this is insane. I feel like they robbed me of my money. I didn't even do anything.

When i contact support they say they cant even tell me what the issue is.

Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Matt

This just happened to me too! I had advertised with Microsoft in the past so the credit card that was on file was expired. Put in the new card so I could start some new ads and I was instantly banned for fraudulent payment activity. Spoke with someone who couldn't do more than read off a screen- points that had very little to do with what actually happened.
I guess I will keep my not small ad spend with google and Meta. Just wanted to give microsoft money to advertise a product their customer clearly likes as I get a lot of organic Bing traffic. Oh well!

Bings market share is only about 3% so it is no big loss for me.

However, their draconian business practices insure that thier market share it wont grow.

I am actively looking for investigative journalists to take this story and run with it. Perhaps that will get their attention.

Does anyone here know a Journalist that could blow this up?

This issue regardless of being a potential fault of AI is actually affecting our businesses. If this is not resolved then I will have no choice but to begin legal proceedings. Having been banned from Google for the same reason actually being their fault for misleading me on the payment matter NOW this is actually affecting my business. I hope they resolve this matter.

I have the same issue. I have both Facebook and Google Ads currently running and wanted to add in Bing as well. Unfortunately, there is a monopoly on the big search engine advertisers.. yes, there are some smaller ones, but the two big beasts are Google and Bing. Started signing up, put in my business credit card and bam.. suspended. Never even ran an ad to be able to violate their policy.

I read through a lot of these comments. It appears we are not alone and that this is a problem with their AI screening software. They are losing money hand over fist with these terrible policies. I wonder if they even know that.. the company is so big, that the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. I bet they have meetings and sales goals for increasing Bing ad users.. but don't realize all of the business they are turning away each day due to faulty software.

The fact that these "decisions" are final and irreversible really puts the cherry on top. So we are just never able to use Bing ads ever? For eternity? For some mistake we are not even aware of??

Seems like an awful business practice. What other company do you know of who bans customers for life that easily? Maybe the credit card address didn't exactly match the first time you put it in.. bam! Banned for eternity! I would suggest starting a class action suit.. but technically businesses can choose to decline service for any reason, or no reason. So I don't know how far it would get, but it might help get this problem noticed by the right people.

    Best of luck everyone!

    Us too.

We sell $million of dollars of product in the US, we're a US based company. We have never ran an ad on Microsoft but run ads on Social Media, Google, Amazon, etc and never had a problem or ding on any of our accounts.

Microsoft cannot or will not provide any details, which tells me they cannot support their own findings of "Egregious activity".

    Big tech flexing their muscle.

We'll continue spending $100k + in advertising with other "reliable" partners.
