My Microsoft ads account got suspended before I even created a campaign .

I got this message 30 mins after creating the account and loading 100$ into it,

"Your access to Microsoft Advertising is currently blocked

We have detected unusual activity in your Microsoft Advertising account. As a security precaution, we have suspended your account and blocked your access.

You can no longer sign in with this user name or email address.

To resolve this issue, please contact Support."

I have never used microsoft ads before, this is insane. I feel like they robbed me of my money. I didn't even do anything.

When i contact support they say they cant even tell me what the issue is.

Can someone please help me resolve this issue?

Thanks,
Matt

The most frustrating thing about it for me, is that my client has direct competitors advertising on Bing as well, I used that fact to convince them to try it, and then this moronic flagging system is basically saying we're not allowed to compete!

I looked on reddit to see if others had encountered the issue and discussed it there. Won't bother trying to link directly to threads but amongst suggestions were

    • "properly setup payment and billing during account creation to prevent getting flagged"
    • "Try again with a new email address. Fails, repeat until it finally accepts and doesn't block. We have had this happen with 8 clients so far."

There was one commenter on reddit that seemed to have some sort of plug at Microsoft to get accounts unsuspended, don't know if they're worth harassing them though.

I'm in the same boat just now, been advertising +£15k/mo on google no problem for my client, try to set up a microsoft ads account, go through the works and face this.

Obviously doesn't make a good impression on the client when I have to explain this to him. Someone needs to pull their finger out on this one. No idea how to get their domain removed from the blacklist now.

I can't imagine Microsoft doing anything to fix this byzantine mess.

What industry are you working with? I suspect an ESG issue.

Nick, what industry are you working in? It must be an ESG related ban.
