I inserted an older drive:
Disk 9: WDC WD30EZRZ-00Z5HB0from a previous installation, to copy much of its content onto another (new) drive:
Disk 8: HGST HUS726040ALE610.

Or, that was the intention.
Seems, I cannot copy the content, as it is "Write Protected".
Odd, as, I never did write-protect the data, and Bitlocker is ALWAYS FULLY disabled, for the record.

So, I selected all, right click, remove Write Protect, pressed the APPLY button,(A window shows all files being done, as expected), pressed OK when it was done.

Redo copy.
Copy failed ... due to write protect?

I check a few folders ... indeed, the flag was not removed, DESPITE the window running the files, giving the OK.
Retry the Remove Write Protect ... .
Recheck the folders ... still write protected.

1. Ran SFC /Scannow ... no ball.
2. Ran DISM ... no ball.
3. Elevated Regedit: \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies => There was no "WriteProtect", so, I added it, and gave it value 0 => ColdBoot => retry ... nope, not a ball there either.
4. Got myself UltraCopy => no ball there as well.

Now, diskpart is often mentioned, but this is something I ran an issue with on someone else's PC, while back.
It led to the disk becoming empty:
No Partition, not even a Volume any more!!!
Not even Stellar Data Recovery, EaseUS, or DiskDrill could recover even a bit from the data.
No clue what had happened to it, but, I can not afford this to happen on my drive:
The data is from the company, hence.

My boss gave me a new Win version, the 24H2 LTSC IoT.
Had to upgrade the work computer at home with it.
OK, sure.

Alas:

I had issues with ALL USB slots.
EVERYTHING WORKED, even my eID, but USB drives?
Nope.
Even removed and reinstall drivers =>Nada.
Searching information on:
Google - nothing.
Bing - nothing.
DuckDuck - nothing.
Yandex - nothing.
Start Search - nothing.

Came here, made a post.
I told the man trying his best to help me, that I expected that BitLocker was interfering, as, nothing he suggested, helped.

So, a Reset from the Rescue Partition ... .
Lost all installed programs, BUT, I could use USB disks again, and have this 24H2 installed now.

But, now I get the Write Protect issue.
UGH.
And I bet, it is BitLocker, I suspect, it plays a Windows Defender on me:
You turn it off for whichever reason, it tells you it is off, but still annoys me by deleting the programs I write to assist me, because "This .exe is deemed very dangerous".
Heck, it even pops up when I tried to install UltraCopier, TeamViewer and VLC!!!
Win Defender is all BUT off, even if it is turned off.
Another nifty thing about it is, it turns itself on again, after what, 5 minutes?
Lovely.

Either way:
How can I "unlock" the data on the Disk 9: WDC WD30EZRZ-00Z5HB0, please?
