I have a new windows 11 computer but i can't see the windows 10 computer on the network. The windows 10 computer on the network can see my windows 11 computer.

I just bought a new PC and am trying to connect to another computer by sharing on private network. My old computer was connected to the network and I have turned on network sharing etc and turned off password protection on new windows 11 computer.

I have changed manual to automatic on the 4 items recommended under services.msn

The windows 10 computer sees my windows 11 computer under network

How do i see the windows 10 computer in network on my windows 11 computer so I can connect by ethernet to Quickbooks as my old computer did.

Do I need to up date all computers to windows 11, same versions?

    This worked for me - on a Win10 computer on a private network, I mapped a drive to a shared folder on a Win11 computer and explicitly put the path in the Folder box: \ComputerName\Path

    If I click Browse, nothing comes up.

    I have shared a whole drive and alot of folders on my win 10 pc, but still not show up on my windows 11 pc, one thing thou, on my windows 11 pc my active network is named as Network, but on my windows 10 pc its names as network 2, could this be the problem, i cant get rid of it called network 2, what ever i do, even tried uninstalling nic card, but it still comes back as network 2.

    I have had the same issue for years - initially my Win 8.1 machine (2015) (pc #1) would talk to my old Win7 machine on the wifi network. Win97 was replaced with a 2016 Win10 machine ( pc #2), and win8.1 happy talked to Win10. But when #1 was upgraded to Win 10 (i.e both Win10), pc #1 and #2 would never talk to each other despite all being set up equally. When #1 died a few weeks ago and was replaced with pc #3, a Win11 machine, despite both being set up equally and on the same network (I have followed all the steps listed in this thread, which are the same steps as being posted in all the other forums), the ONLY way they now talk is if I turn the pcs on, AND THEN reboot the wifi router. It's not perfect, but it's a workaround solution.

    In my opinion the windows networking capability is getting worse with each release.

    Step 3 reads: "Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall"

    I don't see this option in my Windows Defender Firewall manager:

    I tried going through my "Windows Defender Firewall Properties", but saw nothing related to "File and Printer Sharing."

    My old Win7 Backup computer can see my Win11 desktop, and under Network, Win11 lists the networked PC under "Media Devices".

    My Win10 tablet can access both PCs. The only computer that can't see the others is my Win11 Pro desktop. Please help.
