I have a new windows 11 computer but i can't see the windows 10 computer on the network. The windows 10 computer on the network can see my windows 11 computer.

I just bought a new PC and am trying to connect to another computer by sharing on private network. My old computer was connected to the network and I have turned on network sharing etc and turned off password protection on new windows 11 computer.

I have changed manual to automatic on the 4 items recommended under services.msn

The windows 10 computer sees my windows 11 computer under network

How do i see the windows 10 computer in network on my windows 11 computer so I can connect by ethernet to Quickbooks as my old computer did.

Do I need to up date all computers to windows 11, same versions?

    I can now see all my drives on on my old Win10 box from my new Win11 box. I have 6 drives in the Win10 box (don't ask why, long story). I am still getting "Windows cannot access \xxxxxx\x, You do not have permission blah blah blah" on c, d, and e drives, but at least I can now see them. Before it would not even let me in the computer. This is a GREAT start. Now to investigate why I can not access those 3 drives. I think all the permissions are the same but time to double check.

    Thanks again. (You certainly took me into some settings I have never seen before.) I will update with further developments.

    I had the same problem....bought a new laptop Win 11 Pro.....I set up and used my microsoft account to log into my computer and couldn't see anything attached to my net work. I have 2 other laptops....1 uses Win 11 Pro and the other Windows 10 Home

    The only way I could fix it was to change my log in with my new laptop to a local log in where I use the laptop password, not my account user name and password....while I would prefer using the MS account log in process as it is more secure, I couldn't see the other laptops attached to my network.

    This worked for me but with a win 7 and win 11 machines. The 7 could see and read everything on the 11 but got a not authorized when trying to see from the 11 into the 7 machine. If you are seeing the same problem Google "windows 11 sign in local account" and follow the AI instructions. And use the exact same credentials on both machines, I've had this problem since I bought the win 11 machine at a pre Black Friday sale. So as you can see only took me +2 months to find an answer. Awesome job Microsoft!

    Not unequivocally suggesting Dell; my best suspect is the Killer NIC in some regard. What NIC is in your system? Everyone please include what NIC is in your system.
