Remote Desktop Gateway frequent disconnects after KB5040430

After installing KB5040430, we are seeing issues on the Server 2019 Remote Desktop Gateway on RDS.

All users get disconnected approximately every 30-60 minutes, and the following is logged in the Application log on the RD Gateway:

The system was operating normally before the Windows Update.

What steps can be taken to resolve this issue please?

    The RDGW problem is now listed under “known issues” in the KB article. So now officially not fixed.

    In the German article it is still under “Improvements”.

    KB5040437 July patch states: This issue is addressed in KB5042881

    @aw.windowsnutzer What OS version are you seeing the issue with?

    I have Windows Server 2022, the only change is that the crash no longer occurs regularly every 30-40 minutes, but sometimes only after 90 minutes.

    Hello,

    Not fixed for me on a Windows Server 2019 :

    the service crashes and restarts alone, the period between crashes is no longer stable but the problem is still present after update and restart of the server

    This is now listed as a Known Issue in each relevant KB article:

    The Known Issue provides a couple of workaround options as well as the info: 

     ***Next steps****: We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.*

    Just incase it helps anyone else, 2016 servers are affected by a very similar update under KB5040434. Uninstall of the update resolves the issue.
