Bitlocker
How to find bitlocker recovery key with recovery key ID
I have an LG gram laptop. For some reason today it opened to the bitlocker screen. I do not have any recollection of setting up bitlocker, nor do I have a key saved in my Microsoft account. The page is displaying a “recovery key ID” that it says can help identify my key, but I cannot figure out where to enter this to get my key.
I am also unclear on what will happen if I click “skip this drive”. Will that delete all my files or lock me out?

2024-08-31T19:12:54+00:00 MS and computer manufacturing companies should have made it clear to all buyers about the importance of the so called "BiteLocker key". I was not aware of it, and I never heard of it until this problem appeared out of nowhere.
While I appreciate MS's diligence in keeping out computers safe from theft, it should alert the consumers about BiteLocker key in order to safe keep it.
Failing to do so created thousands of problems around the world.
I am asking for a solution, and or remediation.
Thank you .

2024-08-31T19:30:00+00:00 Based on MS instructions I should be able to get my BiteLocker by presenting "Key ID" which appeared in the blue screen. I tried to type the key ID, but nothing happened. No BiteLocker key showed up or anything else.
It looks like MS will generate more revenue now because its poor customers are victimized to purchase another window for installation.
