Hello,
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community forum.
It looks like you have the RDS CAL installed and activated, but the local client does not have a licensed CAL(still within the 120-day grace period).
You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the problem:
- Ensure proper network communication between the RD session host and the RD license server. You are advised to run the ping command or other network tools to check the network connectivity.
- Ensure that the RD license mode is correctly configured:
On the RD session host server, open Server Manager. Navigate to Remote Desktop Services -> Overview. Check the RD License section to make sure the license mode matches the CAL type you installed "by device". You can upload a screenshot of RDS License Manager information so that we can analyze issues related to CAL.
- On the RD session host server, open Server Manager. Navigate to Remote Desktop Services -> Overview -> RD Licensing Diagnoser. Check for any error messages or warnings. This determines why the Licensing Manager has not assigned the CAL to the device.
I hope this will help you. If you have any follow-up questions, please contact us.
Best regards
Jacen
