LPD Service stops after CVE-2024-38027

I've already 3 different servers (Win2016-Win2022-Win11) that have LPD Service stopping/crashing after applying July Updates with CVE-2024-38027 

Anybody else with same problem? Removing Updates solved the problem but it's not the ideal solution.

From Microsoft Information it is solved now with August Patchday.

Windows Server 2022:

    Hello, you can uninstall this kB5039885 this is a temporary method that worked for us.

    and then when you have a stable service , you can try the replacing of lpdsrv.dll in C:/Windows/System32 with an older version prior to this update.

    Just double check that KB5040430 hasn't re-installed itself due to auto updates.

    It installed itself a second time on our system over a weekend.

    We currently have our MSUpdates now paused until a permanent fix is in place.

    i have heard if Windows 2016, that sometimes a uninstall of the KB does not completely remove everything correctly. in that case, a restore from a previous backup is required.
