I've already 3 different servers (Win2016-Win2022-Win11) that have LPD Service stopping/crashing after applying July Updates with CVE-2024-38027

Anybody else with same problem? Removing Updates solved the problem but it's not the ideal solution.

We are facing the same issues on our Printserver with Windows Server 2022. The Print Management Queue with the third party solution Canon Uniflow is not working anymore due to the LPD Service crashes, which coming with the newest windows Update KB 5040437.

My workaround for that is at the moment the following:

One revised the LPD service as a workaround and under Restore set all 3 parameters Service error to "Restart service" and Restart service after "1" minute.

With this workaround the service is also crashing, but the one minute restart delay have no huge impact in our environment.

    Waiting for a fix...

Do they still get updates? I'm not aware of any customer with Win2012/2008 affected by this issue anyway
