LPD Service stops after CVE-2024-38027

I've already 3 different servers (Win2016-Win2022-Win11) that have LPD Service stopping/crashing after applying July Updates with CVE-2024-38027

Anybody else with same problem? Removing Updates solved the problem but it's not the ideal solution.

I have encountered this issue with 9 computers

Tried updating printer drivers and uninstalling/re-installing LPD service, still not working.

Only solution so far for me is to uninstall update KB504027 which is not ideal.

    Hi Molly,

as stated before, uninstalling July Update DID resolve the problem so we have now blocked updates.

How can we raise an Issue in Microsoft Update website?

    Regards

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to July Updates.

Currently, in Microsoft update website, there is no known issue released regarding the July update, but you can try test the result of uninstalling that update. It is recommended to uninstall the July update, and retry the operation or monitor LPD service status.

You can also monitor Microsoft update website to check if there is further update about July patch.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
